About Nanny Duck’s Country Corner

Welcome to Nanny Duck’s Country Corner, where we are dedicated to nurturing a love for nature and educating families on how to look after our beautiful countryside. Our goal is to inspire children to become the future custodians of our planet, respecting nature and appreciating the beauty that’s right on their doorstep.

I currently work as a teacher in a small country school in Wiltshire, and have the pleasure of running the school's LOC sessions (Learning Outside the Classroom). Every child in the school has a block of 6 weeks Wilderness Warrior sessions carefully designed to enhance and enrich our currriculum topics.

Parents are also invited to take part in an outdoor session with their child. These sessions are designed to instill a deep appreciation for the natural world.

Our Ethos

Outdoor learning is at the heart of everything we do.

Connecting Children with Nature

Our outdoor learning tutorials are designed to foster a deep connection between children and the changing seasons. Through hands-on nature projects and engaging activities, we hope to create opportunities for children to explore, learn, and grow in nature's embrace.

Here are five ways you can help the environment:

  • Reduce, reuse, and recycle: Try to reduce what you throw away, and focus on reusing and recycling. You can reuse hard-to-avoid plastics, like those used for bread and tortillas, to carry produce.

  • Conserve water and electricity: Save energy at home, and use long-lasting light bulbs.

  • Shop wisely: Shop local whenever possible, and buy from secondhand or thrift stores.

  • Plant a tree: Planting trees can help balance the ecosystem.

  • Volunteer: Volunteer for cleanups in your community.
